At Home But Still Getting COVID 19 Here are 7 Problems and Prevention

Until now, there was still no sign that the corona virus would soon disappear. Instead, drive out the corona virus first, the government implements new normal. With this policy, the community will return to their normal activities, starting from going to college or working in an office.

Therefore, the potential of the community to be infected with the corona virus will be even greater because it will soon blend again with the crowd. However, that does not mean by staying at home you will definitely avoid COVID 19. Apparently a lot of people are affected by COVID 19 even though they remain at home.

Curious why you can still suffer from COVID-19 even though you've done self isolation at home? Here are some problems and prevention

1. Many are infected with the corona virus even though they are orderly at home

Launch CNBC, there are quite a lot of people who are infected with the corona virus even though they have stayed at home. As in New York, about 66 percent of COVID-19 patients are people who have only been in the house without going out at all. At first many thought they must have used public transportation or left home, even though they were completely silent at home.

Even so, not everyone likes to just be in the house, even though they say that they do not leave the house. Yes, there are still people who leave the house to shop for daily needs.

When humans relax their discipline, viruses don't care. Yale School of Medicine professor of medicine Joseph Vinetz said the corona virus will continue to do its work.

2. Do not wash your hands diligently

Even though you remain isolated at home, you must wash your hands diligently all the time. Not leaving the house at all does not mean your hands can not be dirty. Besides being dirty, your hand also has the potential to save the corona virus. Generally, this can happen because you touched an unclean item.

For that, use water and soap to rub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Use foam to the wrists, fingers, and under the nails. You can also use antibacterial and antiviral soaps, as quoted by Healthline.

3. Touch your face often

Frequently touching your face is also the reason why you can get COVID-19 even at home. Not without reason, the corona virus can indeed survive up to 72 hours on the surface of certain objects, for example from cellphones to door handles.

While at home, you must often hold these objects. Thus, the corona virus will move from that object to your hands. When you touch the face, the virus will be transferred again to the face. They will enter through your mouth, eyes and nose to attack your body.

4. Use the same glass

Is the only one living in your house? Maybe the majority will say no, because you certainly live with parents or children.

Since you keep interacting with others even if you remain at home, you must be vigilant. One example is watching your glass.

If you use one glass for drinking together, the transmission of the virus can occur more quickly. They will go straight through your mouth with the water you drink. Other than that, other things that you can't use together are straws and cellphones.

5. Do not cover the nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing

SARS-CoV-2 is also found in high amounts in the nose and mouth. This means it can be carried by air droplets to other people when you cough, sneeze or talk. The virus can also land on the surface of objects and stay there for up to 3 days.

So, you or other family members have to cover their nose and mouth when they want to sneeze or cough. Use a tissue or sneeze to the elbow to keep your hands as clean as possible. After sneezing or coughing, wash your hands immediately to remove the sticking virus.

6. Wash all food

Before eating foods like fruits, make sure to wash them. The fruits come from outside so you do not know who has held them. You need to clean the fruit with running water so that the corona virus that sticks away.

But remember, just wash with water only. The CDC and FDA do not recommend you to wash food with soap.

7. Routinely use disinfectants

Now you already know that a lot of corona viruses stick to the surface of objects such as door handles, tables, chairs, and others. Even without going outside, you could potentially be infected with the corona virus. So, you need to spray disinfectant regularly to the surface of certain objects.

Not only objects in the house. If you do an online transaction, make sure you spray the package with disinfectant.
