Oppo released Reno 3 months ago as the successor to Reno 2 F, then this month Oppo continued its portfolio by introducing Reno 3 Pro, a successor from Reno 2 which was released last year.
Despite sharing the same name, Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro are two very different devices. Starting from the screen, design, chipset, camera, features, audio, and others.
More premium, Reno 3 Pro is intended for professional users who need a device with complete features and excellent performance, especially in terms of photography and mobile gaming.
For excellent performance, Reno 3 Pro is supported by Mediatek's highest chipset, the Helio P95, and the device displays a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED Display.
No less glamorous, in the photography department the device is equipped with a 64MP Quad Camera on the back and a 44MP + 2MP dual front camera.
There is only one configuration variant, the Reno 3 Pro is supported by 8GB of large RAM and 256GB of free storage. The device is sold at a price of USD 600, and is widely available from the end of April 2020.

Sales Package
Before entering in-depth reviews, let's discuss the contents of the Oppo Reno 3 Pro sales package. In the sales package, outside of the smartphone unit, the buyer will also get a USB cable and charger, complete with a warranty card and a guidebook.
The charger here supports fast charging, where users can charge 50% of the battery from 0 in just 20 minutes.
Then buyers of the Oppo Reno 3 Pro will also get complete accessories, because the vendor has embedded a transparent jelly case and earphones in the sales package. In addition to the two accessories, Oppo also provides an ejector pin to open the SIM card and MicroSD slot.
Screen
The longer stare at a smartphone screen usually makes eyes tired, but not with Reno 3 Pro. Because the device has pocketed the TUVRheiland Full Care Display Certification certificate which is able to reduce the blue filter so the user will still be comfortable staring at the cellphone screen.
Using the latest Super AMOLED display technology, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro's face panel is very spacious measuring 6.44 inches with a high ratio of 20: 9.
Without bezels or notches, the Reno 3 Pro selfie camera is a dual punch hole. Not one, the upper left corner of the phone is decorated with two hole holes that are inhabited by 44MP and 2MP dual cameras.
The design
The Power button is on the right side, while the volume rocker is opposite it, lined up with SIM card and microSD slots (three slots).
For audio connoisseurs with a cable, don't worry, Reno 3 Pro still provides a 3.5mm audio jack that is placed under the USB-C port and stereo speakers as well as a microphone.
On the back panel is a vertical four-camera perch, complete with flash light. Because using the fingerprint on the screen, the back panel looks clean, there is no fingerprint area.
Camera
Excelling in the photography department, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro is equipped with four cameras with a 64MP main camera with 1 / 1.72 "sensor and f / 1.8 aperture, which already supports the Ultra Clear Image and Ultra Dark Mode features.
The other three cameras are a 13MP telephoto lens with a 1 / 3.4 ”sensor and an f / 2.4 aperture. Then there is an 8MP ultra wide angle lens with a sensor ¼ ”which is able to capture images with a wide angle of 120 degrees. Finally, there is a 1/5 "2MP sensor mono lens with a large 1.75um pixel.
The main features of the Quad camera Reno 3 Pro are 5x Hybrid Zoom to 20x Digital Zoom. Hybrid zoom here means that the phone can do 2x optical zoom and between 2x to 5x zoom is optical and software collaboration, while 20x digital zoom is fully working software.
Another feature is that Ultra Clear Image can produce images of 108MP. That is, the Reno 3 Pro camera can take low noise and high sharpness images combined, resulting in extremely sharp detail. And can be printed up to a size of 20 × 40 meters.
Utilizing the AI algorithm, the Ultra Dark Mode feature will automatically activate if the light conditions are below 1 lux. With AI, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro camera can reduce noise and sharpen images.
Selfie camera
Not a bezel or notch, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro screen is decorated with a Dual Punch-hole Camera with a 44MP main camera with ½.65 "sensor and f / 2.4 diaphragm plus a 2MP depth lens with 1/5" sensor and f / 2.4 diaphragm
The main features of the Reno 3 Pro's front camera are the Portrait Mode or Bokeh and Ultra Night Selfie Mode. Though Ultra Night is usually only available on the rear camera, Oppo developed it for the front camera too.
The way it works is that the camera will take a few photos and adjust frame-by-frame be it brightness, sharpness, and noise reduction. With Human Face Protection technology, the Ultra Night Selfie Mode feature will keep the face looking natural.
Video Features
The video optimization feature also applies to the front camera. There is a new feature called the Oppo Screen Image Engine (OSIE) which is very useful for recording short videos like on Instagram Story or TikTok.
With OSIE the picture will look sharper and the colors come out more. This feature will be very useful for content creators in using short video applications.
Not just a short video, recording normal video is also better using the front camera Reno 3 Pro. Because the device already supports Ultra Steady Video Pro where Oppo will utilize EIS and add sensors to the Reno 3 Pro so images appear more stable again.
Besides the two above, other video features include Video Bokeh, Video Zoom, and AI Beauty Mode for videos.
ColorOS7 is based on Android 10
Reno 3 Pro already uses the latest operating system Color OS 7 based on Android 10. A number of brand-new enterprise applications are automatically embedded in the main menu. Like Soloop for easy video editing, Multi-user Mode, Live Wallpaper, and Artist Wallpaper in collaboration with artists, specifically for Reno 3 Pro.

The performance
